What do you mean by “Blacklisted” apps?

A key aspect of Mobile App Management (MAM) are Blacklisted apps. Blacklisted apps are applications that your IT department has deemed as apps that are not allowed or are unsafe for use on iPhones and iPads (Apple iOS based), Android phones and tablets or other mobile devices.

What is the reason for Blacklisting apps?

Blacklisting apps is a method in which MDM admins at IT departments can have insight into device information and user action – allowing them to building stronger, safer and more secure mobile policies. Blacklisted apps can be the same for all users in an organization or can be unique to each individual device group. This will not stop users from opening or using these applications but will alert admins when Blacklisted apps are installed. If you would like to restrict even this kind of access of Apple iOS, you can use iOS Configuration Profiles to completely restrict access to the Apple App Store.
